An integrative review, employing the Whittemore and Knafl framework for integrated reviews, was conducted.
Using the keywords virtual reality, clinical decision, and undergraduate nursing, a detailed investigation of healthcare databases, specifically CINAHL, Medline, and Web of Science, was carried out from 2010 to 2021.
In the initial phase of the search, 98 articles were found. 70 articles were subjected to a critical review, after screening and eligibility verification. see more Eighteen studies featured in the review were critically evaluated using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program checklist for qualitative research papers and McMaster's Critical appraisal form for quantitative research articles.
VR research has indicated a promising effect on critical thinking, clinical reasoning, clinical judgment, and clinical decision-making abilities among undergraduate nursing students. Students believe these teaching methods foster improved clinical decision-making aptitudes. The potential of immersive virtual reality for nurturing clinical decision-making skills in undergraduate nursing students requires additional research attention.

Emerging from the degradation of alginate, alginate oligosaccharides (AOS) are now widely employed in the food, cosmetic, and medical sectors. AOS's physical properties are impressive (low relative molecular weight, high solubility, superior safety, and remarkable stability), along with its exceptional physiological functions, including immunomodulatory, antioxidant, antidiabetic, and prebiotic properties. Alginate lyase is a crucial element in the process of AOS bioproduction. This study highlighted the identification and characterization of a unique alginate lyase, categorized within the PL-31 family, derived from Paenibacillus ehimensis, specifically the paeh-aly enzyme. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), a crucial endogenous gaseous signaling molecule, is commonly present in various mammals, impacting the cardiovascular and nervous systems significantly. Due to the presence of cerebral ischaemia-reperfusion, a severe form of cerebrovascular disease, reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced in a significant quantity. ROS are responsible for inducing oxidative stress, thereby stimulating specific gene expression which results in apoptosis. Through its anti-oxidative stress, anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and anti-endothelial damage properties, as well as its modulatory effect on autophagy and antagonism of P2X7 receptors, hydrogen sulfide reduces secondary injury in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion; its significance extends to other cerebral ischemic events. Although the hydrogen sulfide therapy delivery approach faces numerous constraints and precise concentration control proves challenging, substantial experimental data highlight H2S's remarkable neuroprotective function in cerebral ischaemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI). In this paper, the synthesis and metabolism of the gas H2S within the brain are scrutinized, including the molecular mechanisms of H2S donors during cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and the potential for other as-yet-unrevealed biological functions. The gut's microbial community is widely believed to play a crucial role in maintaining immune balance and development, and mounting evidence underscores the gut microbiota-immunity axis's significance in autoimmune conditions. The host's immune system needs communicative tools to interact with the gut microbiome's evolutionary partners. The ability of T cells to discern the full scope of gut microbial recognition exceeds that of all other microbial perceptions. Microorganisms inhabiting the gut are specifically responsible for initiating and shaping the transformation of Th17 cells in the intestinal tract. Furthermore, the specific relationship between gut microbiota composition and Th17 cell activity is not clearly defined. A description of the formation and characterization of Th17 cells is provided in this review. The gut microbiota, its metabolites, and the induction and differentiation of Th17 cells are critically examined, along with recent breakthroughs in understanding the interplay between Th17 cells and the gut microbiota within human diseases. We also offer emerging evidence in support of interventions that address gut microbes/Th17 cells in human diseases.
